Quilt and Crochet – the marriage of two favourites

Sitting in the dark last weekend without power for 22 hours, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to start on a project that I had on the design board for sometime.

Moda are releasing new pre-cuts, named Honeycomb. They are laser cut hexagons available for one designer collection – ‘Happy go lucky’ and 10 popular bella solids (Snow 9900-11, Natural 9900-12, Red 9900-16, Admiral Blue 9900-48, Brown 9900-71, Robins Egg 9900-85, white 9900-98, Black 9900-99, Porcelain 9900-182 and Silver 9900-183)

Honeycombs are due to be released soon and in anticipation of the new pre-cuts I have started playing with solids and hexies.

I am using Bella solid 9900-170 Etchings Slate and a packet of mini charms of the new Bella solids for the heart. Using perle cottons, I am crocheting around the hexagons which will be joined to together.
