Valentines Day is around the corner so it’s time to get the quilting love on and sew-long with Moda. This versatile design can be made into a block (mini) or a larger quilt using a layer cake and some yardage.

I added some more ‘Love’ to the block. When I first looked at the block pattern I could see a heart in the design, much like those images you stare at that contain another image.
Here is a coloured outline of the block.

The block finishes at 16″ x 16″.
I think I have to make a quilt from these blocks or go big and do one 72″ x 72″ block. I will see where my quilting heart leads me ……..
Love adding the heart shape in the middle! Beautiful!
very Nice…….
beautiful block…such talent!
That is beautiful ! I never saw the star in the block until you pointed it out. Thanks..❤️
Love the heart pattern!! thanks!
Where is the pattern for the heart wall hanging?
There is a link to the original block and an outline image of my adaptation in my post.
Beautiful Block! I have been thinking about how to put a heart in this pattern. Thank you for doing the work for me … <3 <3 <3 Pat
Nice!
did u use 5 inch squares to create the 16 heart wall hanging.
Hi Sheila, they are all 2″ finished squares. To make the HST, I used 5 1/4″ squares.
I just love this quilt. Great idea.
I have a layer cake of Bloomsbury I am hoping to make into this pattern. One of those computer programs where I can move things around would sure be helpful – I’m terrified of cutting a square that I might need whole !!!😬
Beautiful block! I can’t wait to stitch this one out!
Thank yOu!
Carpenter’s star, heart, star all in one. Perfect!
I’m still new at quilting and am not sure how to create the top of the heart (the red/white/blue) How do you create it?? Half square triangles?
Hi Teresa, make an HST and then place a square right sides together with HST.https://www.bonjourquilts.com/quarter-square-triangles/
Thank you!! Excellent directions! Love this pattern.
Where is the pattern with heart?
Hi Sandy, I used the original pattern from the Moda website and added in pieces to make the heart.
