I'd pull out one of the yellows or oranges for sashing I think.

I wouldn't sash it. You get that lovely pink square happening without the sashing which is lovely. Borders yes – you could keep it very thin and then bind in the same fabric. But you have to do what you like

Wow, that's just fabulous! My first thought was no sashing, but then I noticed there is just the slightest of gaps between them on the floor, and that looks kinda cool. So if you do sash, I vote a very slimline one!

First of all: Your blocks looks great!!! The APQquiltalong is very high up on my bucket list, since all those wonderful pictures pop up all over the place.
Maybe one of the colors of the blocks' inner crosses would work too?!
Since you're using very similar colours in your blocks, I think you wouldn't necessarily need sashing. It's a very "calm" design. However, the blocks would pop out more with a solid sashing. I personally would go for a white/off-white sashing, but mostly because it's the safe option
The longer I look at the picture, the more I'm for a sashing.

These blocks are great, and I love the colours! First instinct: no sashing; but I think a narrow background colour sashing (the width of the pink squares) with a pink cornerstone would make a lovely surprise happening in the corners… A lot depends on the size you want to achieve.

Sorry forgot to add. I originally did not like the APQ quilt along quilt, just not my cup of tea. But then I saw your version and I am in love. How you chose to highlight different block then the original pattern. I might have to add this to my to do list as it looks so scrap friendly and see if I could put a different twist on it like you. I think I need to change the way I look at blocks this year. Fabulous job.

When I saw your post on FB this morning, I thought,"I don't think that quilt wants sashing!" It is perfect the way it is, and I think you'll loose that cool design if you sash. Love this!

I also like the 1" finished sashing you mentioned in an earlier post – that would be equally cool. The wide sashing… it would be terrific but the no-sashing or small-sashing both create some wonderful secondary patterns that I think would be lost with the wider pieces.
But here's the thing… whatever you decide will be awesome. Because that's what you do.

I don't think it needs sashing. It would break up those wonderful pink rings that come together where the corners meet. This is a wonderful quilt!!
