Jolly Bar Blog Hop
Fat Quarter Shop have introduced the exclusive Jolly bar. It’s the middle child between the Layer Cake and the Charm pack. Each Jolly Bar includes 42 – 5″ x 10″ pieces of Moda fabrics and a free pattern to make a quilt. FQS has also put together some great kits for the Jolly Bar.
There are also instructional videos for the Jolly Bar quilts on the Fat Quarter Shop You Tube channel.
Want a chance to win FQS #jollybar Golden Tickets? FQS have sneaked in 4 Golden Tickets, and each is a $50 gift certificate to FQS but they are only in the first batch of Jolly Bars, so you must pre-order for a chance to get one – Jolly Bars.
I chose the Persimmon Jolly Bar by Basic Grey. I am a big fan of their fabrics, especially the grunges. This range has a very Autumn feeling to it with a palette of salmons, olive green, ochres, tans, pale blues, reds and navy. Adding a background fabric from Jenn Ski’s, Mod Century collection, I created a simple quilt pattern with a floating, tilted HST block.
The quilt was finished with a Karlee Porter design – Eyes using Aurifil 50wt cotton 2310 and a nude binding (same fabric as the last border). Backing is a Wilmington wide-back fabric by Kaye England.
The blog hop will run over 5 days, showcasing different projects from:

Oooh, I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone gets up to with this new cut. Will have to play around with that shape in some design software to see what can be done with it. Lovely quilt as always, Jane, made even more lovelier by the quilting!

I love how you've taken something so simple and given it such a great twist. I'm hoping you'll teach us all how to float a HST.
