Introducing Nine Cubed and Pointism

Nine cubed is an easy fat quarter friendly quilt, 68″ x 90″ finished.

I designed this quilt back in 2016 for my son’s 5th grade teacher. Yes, each year I made a quilt (or quilts) for my two sons primary school teachers. Each quilt was different in design and colour and all were gifts of appreciation for the wonderful year my sons had with these exceptional people.

I remade this quilt for another gift in Bonnie and Camille basics. To get the value out of each fat quarter piece, I used the fabrics in a scrappy binding and made extra 9-patches for the pieced backing.

Another pattern I have revived from 2015 is Pointism. This was originally a 6″ block I designed for the Splendid Sampler™ 1. I ended up make 10 other blocks and this one was kept in my pattern vault until I could write a pattern for a 12″ block version.

Finished quilt size: 72″ x 72″. Fat Quarter friendly.

Fabrics from the combined collections of Ruby Star Society designers for Moda

The block uses my favourite notion – the EZ quilting Tri Rec Tool. I have used this tool in so many of my quilts.

Fabrics are from the collections of V & C co for Moda. Confetti Ombre, Ombre and Spectrum.

Templates are included with the pattern. Optionally, you can purchase the Tri Rec tool here (AUS) or here (USA).
