The Desperate Housewife’s Quilt – Block 37 Foofy Frills
Welcome to week 37 of the ‘The Desperate Housewife’s Quilt’. Todays block is about Foundation and curved piecing. Remember, this is not a quilt-a-long. Just follow the blog every week and pick and choose which blocks you would like to make. I will be injecting some uniqueness into traditional blocks, applique, three dimensional, crazy and thread-art blocks. If you make a block please post it on the Flickr group for everyone to enjoy. Also, I have this nifty button under each post that allows you to save the post as a PDF.

Be sure to visit this week’s Guest Blogger and their wonderful block.
(N.B Due to time and date differences, guest bloggers posts do not always coincide with my post)
My guest today is McKenna Powell from Textile Diva. McKenna is presenting this awesome block named ‘Ray-di-ant’, a foundation piece star block.

Foofy Frills
Every girl deserves to wear a dress that they can swirl around in and be completely over the top.
Assembly
- Download the foundation templates from here P1, here P2 and here P3
- Make the three sections and sew together. I would suggest clipping inside all the curves to make it easier to manipulate the fabric as you sew.
Alternative method
- For the ‘curve shy’, cut an 8 1/2″ square of paper and draw 3 evenly radiating lines from one point.
- Foundation piece your block.
- Use Section B of the foundation templates to cut the swirl and appliqué it to your foundation pieced block using your favourite technique.
