Flying Kimonos – Moda Bake Shop

May 28, 2011 by quiltjane 8 Comments

I have been cooking in the kitchen of Moda again and whipped up this quilt – Flying Kimonos.

It is based on a Japanese Sashiko design that resembles little arrow heads and has been created using the stunning Modern Workshop collection from Oliver + S. It is made from a strip piecing technique, cut at a 45 degree angle. Easy!

I might try this using only solids

I like the block, but don't quite "get" the kimono part. I think I just like the colours
