9-patch up in the air
Imagine tossing 86 9-patch blocks up in the air and letting then fall (not so randomly). Let me introduce my new jelly roll friendly pattern – 9patch up in the air.
A very easy, tilted 9-patch pattern using your favourite prints from 2 1/2″ strips and yardage for the background.
The finished quilt measures 72″ x 80″. Perfect for a single bed or lap quilt. My lovely neighbour and quilting buddy Tania, made a smaller version using 53 blocks and the latest Moda Grunge colours.
So many collections and backgrounds to choose from. A monochromatic quilt would be fun or grouping the same print into circles.
The pattern can be found here (PDF)
To make cutting and squaring each block I have designed a 2 piece template set. This set could be used for any 8″ finished tilted block.

The quilt is lovely. Wish I had time right now to sew it up. Work always gets in my way, but it does pay for my hobby!
