Cotton is my favourite textile medium. It is my choice for both fabric and thread selection. To assist in choosing the correct colour thread, I invested in thread charts from Signature, Aurifil and Superior.

 A wise investment is also found in purchasing fabric cards for solids such as Moda Bella Solids, Kona Solids and Hoffman Bali Watercolours. These swatches are invaluable when selecting solids to enhance a project.

The subtle hues of the Masterpiece Neutral Ranges

Another ‘must have’ for my sewing box is the bobbin range from Superior and the Masterpiece light and dark neutrals. The Masterpiece is a 50wt cotton and is great on the machine, by hand or for applique. The Bottom Line bobbin selection is also handy for applique and english paper piecing projects. The thread is a polyester 60wt thread, which makes it almost invisible.
