Spring has Sprung

It is Sunday morning, 12th September 2010 and I am up bright and early to go to the Portside Boutique Markets. It was such a beautiful spring morning, I took a wander around the yard and snapped some pictures of the botany.

Nicely mowed grass (1 1/2 hours on a ride on)
My dwarf variety of Bowen mango is flowering
Mum’s Rose has its first bloom
Mum and Dad planted this climbing rose the last time they visited me before mum passed away.
Flowering Rosemary (nice with a lamb roast)
The grevillea are in full bloom and the native birds are in nectar heaven. I saw some little red headed finches and a pair of pale headed rosellas this morning.
A few strawberries about to ripen. Yum!
The grapes are dormant, although I noticed a few buds sneaking out while I was mowing. They are a variety called Chambourcin. Cultured  to withstand high humidity and fungal disease.  They produce a red wine.
