SliceofCake

July 2015 heralded the arrival of Barb and Mary, the creative geniuses behind Me and My Sister Designs. Patches of Indooroopilly held a class for the Slice of Cake quilt. Can I say I am still buzzing from that fabulous class with two of my favourite girls. IMG_4075-001

Barb and Mary are excellent instructors that made the class fun with lots of games and giveaways.

In our break we had the opportunity to make these cute scissor fobs from a collection of most gorgeous beads and charms supplied by the dynamic duo.

The quilt was quick and easy to make using pre-cuts but it was not until this week that I had a chance to quilt and bind my project. The quilt is made using Mixologie by Studio M Moda and Reel Time by Zen Chic (background). Finished with a scrappy binding and quilted with Aurifil 50wt cotton 2620 using Seafoam design.

I am sure Barb and Mary loved our fair country with it’s drop bears, cool weather and red frogs. Hopefully we can entice them back one day. Thank you Di Mill and Moda for organising the tour.
