Modabakeshop – At the seashore – Melt Block

Jul 25, 2019 by quiltjane 9 Comments

It’s my day for the At the Seashore sew-along for Modabakeshop.

I wanted to make a larger quilt so I designed 3 extra blocks to make a 5 x 5 block setting.

  • Life saver – pieced
  • Shark alarm – pieced and applique
  • Brighton beach huts – pieced and foundation paper piecing

Download the extra blocks here.

I can only show you a glimpse of my finished quilt. All will be revealed at the end of the sew-along.

I used Ruby Star Society fabrics and the FQ bundle of C&S basics I had in my stash that perfectly matched. The background is one of my go-to white backgrounds – Grunge White Paper 30150-101 and quilting pattern is Seafoam. Quilted with Aurifil 2024 50wt thread.

The sew-long wraps up 26th August 2019. There is still plenty of time to join in the fun. You can find all the blocks here.

Do you have to have a book for this QAL? If so, which one? If not, why am I not able to find pdfs to download the fabric requirements/instructions/patterns? I found one! Thanks.

Such a cute block. However, “you can find all the blocks here” except your current ice cream cones block. Everywhere else does not have the print capability. Can you please make it printer friendly. Thanks
