Girls Stitch In
I had a wonderful day yesterday at Highfields ( near Toowoomba ) participating in the Girls Stitch In hosted by the Quilters Angel. We were each given a bag of goodies which included the materials for one stitchery project and the instructions for all six projects presented by three guest designers. I don’t get to do much embroidery and discovered I may never be a well rounded Victorian Lady after all.
My project was a Julie Lovell design called ‘Julie Makes Owls’. I was supposed to make it in a variegated cherry coloured thread but I went freelance with my thread and needle and chose oranges, limes, turquoise blue and chocolate threads. Originally intended to be a bag pattern but again, the rebel in me will make it into something else.
We were lucky to be in Toowoomba in September for the flower festival. On the way to the Stitch In, Sandi and I stopped off at the park to admire the flowers.

Sounds like a great way to spend a day, love those owls (and I think I prefer them this way than I imagine they would be with variegated thread!)
