Travel with the Gnomes – Part III

Norm and Nanette visited the beautiful botanical gardens at Mt Coot-tha. Nanette was looking a bit pale when she left home. I think it was all the chocolate she has been eating. It’s spring in Brisbane and all the flowers are starting to bloom in the garden.

So much colour and texture all around. Even the bees are hard at work.

I lost Norm and Nanette for 5 minutes while strolling through the gardens and eventually found them in the Japanese garden with a small surprise.

It was a baby Gnome named Bob. I learnt some interesting facts that the gestation period for a gnome is only 24 hours and baby gnomes are born with beards. Fascinating!

The gnome family finished the day with a trip to Redcliffe for fish n chips while they walked along the seaside. Norm made them stop for a photo with the Bee Gees as he is a great fan.

Elizabeth Hartman’s Norm and Nanette pattern can be found at your favourite quilt shop or here

Norm, Nanette and Baby Bob are now flying AusPost Internation Express to the USA. Visit Pat’s web page or Subscribe to Pat’s youtube channel to follow Norm and Nanette’s tour.

N.B There is no pattern for Bob as he is a unique being and his DNA cannot be replicated.

A baby Gnome! How exciting! What an amazing journey from Norm to Nanette, and now Baby Bob! Are baby girl gnomes also born with beards? If so, when do they loose them? Thank you for sharing this wonderful update and the fantastic garden photos. Safe travels to Norm and his family as they head back to the U.S.!
