‘Tis the Season to be Charmed – Sweet Treat Blog Hop and giveaway

{The giveaway is now closed}

Sweet Treats Blog Hop

Welcome to my post on the Sweet Treat Blog Hop. The challenge is to make something from 1 packet of mini charms (42 – 2.5″ squares) and 1/2 yd of co-ordinating fabric. (As usual, I got it half right and did not read correctly the 1/2 yards requirement. Oops!)

Finished Quilt Size: 36″ x 48 1/2″
‘Tis the Season to be Charmed mini quilt has a Christmassy theme with the inscription, Love, Hope and Peace inscribed on the bottom row.
What you will need:
1 packet of Odds n Ends mini charm pack by Cosmo Cricket
1 yard flax background fabric ( 36″ x 42″ piece )
7″ x width of fabric leaf green piece
42″ x 58″ backing fabric
40″ x 54″ wadding
1/2 yard binding fabric
Assembly
  • Fold the flax solid into quarters and then again twice on the diagonal.
  • Place the mini charms on point as shown in the diagram below.
  • Glue or pin each mini charm in place
  • Using a smaller stitch, sew 1/8″ in from the edge of each square. The squares are cut with a pinked edging to prevent fraying.

  • Cut the 7″ wide leaf green strip to 36″ wide and sew to completed panel.
  • Place 9 mini charm squares on point evenly across the joined pieces.
  • Layer the top sheet, wadding and backing and quilt as desired. Bind it, Label it and give it to someone you love.
Today, the Fat Quarter Shop have generously supplied a $25 gift voucher which will go to one lucky blogger. All you have to do is:
1. Stalk me on my blog, Facebook or Twitter and tell me you do and
2. Tell me what your favourite Mini Charm Pack is listed on the Fatquartershop site.

Good Luck and don’t forget to visit all the participants, marvel at their projects and go into the draw for the $25 Fat Quarter Shop gift certificate.

cannot believe that there are no comments as yet, I am a recent follower of yours – maybe because you live in Australia and I was lucky enough to visit for a couple of months in 1988. I think small prints would go well as mini charms – like cinnamon spice, and anything cuzco it fantastic.
