Sewcialites 2 – Block 21 Dapper

The humble 9-patch snowball block

The Sewcialites 2 sew-a-long is in full swing and there are only a few blocks to go. Today I am posting about my block, Dapper, a humble 9-patch snowball. For those that know me my motto is, “if is it not challenging then it is not worth doing” and this easy block is totally out of character for me. But is it?

The snowball block in its simplicity can make a wonderful quilt using solids and prints, stripes, dots and especially fabrics that lend to fussy cutting. I think this block could be used to make a cute eye-spy baby or child’s quilt.

My favourite tools for fussy cutting are the creative grids square rulers and a rotating cutting board.

My progress so far

I’ll let you on to a little secret. As a member of the Sewcialites 2 designers, I can sew ahead. I’ll keep you in suspense for the last three blocks I think you will love them.

There will be a suggested setting for the blocks as well as Kimberley’s setting and some very creative settings in the Facebook group – Sewcialites Lounge. Join the FB group to share your blocks and don’t forget to post on social media using #sewcialites2 #sewcialitesqal. Tag me on IG if you make my block @quiltjane
