Teacher Quilts 2013

Nov 28, 2013 by quiltjane 15 Comments

The 2013 school year is at an end and once again I have made a quilt for my little one’s teachers. Something I have done since 2003 while my boys are in primary school.
This year S2 enjoyed the tutorage of two teachers which split their duties across the week.

Teacher 1 –  Quilt Top

  • Sarah Watson’s Luxe in Bloom collection Art Gallery Fabrics.
  • Judy Martin’s Liberty Bell Star (with a little appliquéd flower in the centre)
  • Finished size 60″ x 60″

 Backing

  • Label designed by me and printed by Spoonflower. Contains the names of the children in the class.
  • Luxe in Bloom
  • Robert Kaufman Quilters Linen Chartreuse

Quilting

  • Various designs quilted with Aurifil 50wt 5015 cotton thread.

Teacher 2 – Quilt Top

  • Assortment of French General fabrics from Moda. Featured prominently are prints form the La Petite Ecole collection.
  • Century of Progress Block #3941 from BlockBase
  • Finished quilt size – 60″ x 60″

 Backing

  • French General fabrics from Fa La La La collection.
  • Label designed by me and printed by Spoonflower. Contains the names of the children in the class.

Quilting

  • Aurifil 4140 50wt cotton (blue) and Superior So Fine 413 (Deep red).
