Froggies on The Pond

A few weeks ago I blogged about Sarah Fielke’s designer collection for Spotlight. After waiting patiently for it to arrive at my local Spotlight store, I purchased 1 1/2m of the black and white frog eggs and a FQ of each of the range to make a small quilt or wall hanging.
The lily pad was created using pieced circles and appliquéing each one to a 4-patch background. The frogs were fused in place and secured with Superior invisible thread.
The quilting was a combination of a digital pattern and freehand done in 4 beautiful Aurifil threads that I thought matched the fabrics.

Aurifil 50wt cotton Mako 1148 (Light Jade), 2437 Light Peony, 5015 (Gold Yellow/Lime), 4020 (Fushia).

Bound in Michael Miller Clown Stripe in Lime and backed with Anna Griffin Caroline collection by Windham Fabrics in pale pink.
