Christmas Ribbons

Aug 10, 2011 by quiltjane 15 Comments

Joining in the festive fun of Christmas in July, I designed a quilt especially for the ModaBakeShop. I absolutely love anything French General and when I saw their Christmas collection, Fa La La La, I simply had to make a quilt.

I used a combination of appliqué and piecing to create the ribbon effect and strategically placed some festive pinwheels to add more movement to the overall design.

The threads starring in this production are piecing – Rasant #0125 , Applique – Aurifil 40/2 #2905 and #1103, Machine Quilting – Superior So Fine 50/3 #452

Long arm a whimsical, feather pattern to complete the quilt and …..

Back of quilt

one festive quilt approx. 58.5″ x 58.8″

Your quilting is beautiful. And thanks for sharing the threads that you used. I am in the process of trying out new threads (and I have not really heard of Rasant).
