Be still my heart

Jan 31, 2013 by quiltjane 11 Comments

This is my latest valentine project for Issue 12 of Fatquarterly E-Zine. Made with the luscious Ruby Oakshott cottons, this easy quilt combines a simple pieced background and an appliqued heart design. I could not bring myself to cut-up the oakshotts so I let these gems radiate in a brick design. Using Aurifil   50wt thread in red (2265), I used a digital quilting design – Rapunzal (Anne Bright).

Love the oakshott cotton. Can't wait for the Kaffe shot cotton to hit the shops.

Beautiful! I've never used Oakshott cottons but I'm getting more and more tempted every time I see them..

I've just got some Oakshot in the sale, they catch the light beautifully.

It's beautiful Jane. I haven't actually seen (or more importantly, touched!) Oakshott cottons in real life, but the more I hear about them the more intriguing they sound.
