Queensland Flood Appeal

We are a Brisbane family who are lucky to have escaped the devastation of these floods but many Queenslanders have lost their homes, businesses, livestock, crops and lives. Seventy Five percent of the state of Queensland is under water (that it is the size of Texas). The city of Brisbane is like a ghost town with the Brisbane river engulfing its streets and buildings.

To give hope back to Queenslanders, money is being raised to rebuild their lives. Toni from Make it Perfect has invited bloggers to auction or raffle a hand made item. The funds raised will go directly to the Premiers Flood Relief Appeal

I will be holding a raffle.

This raffle is open to everyone, even international bloggers. Postage is included.

To enter this raffle you must make a donation to the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal.

Multiple entries are welcome but each entry must have a separate receipt number.
Leave a comment for each donation with a valid receipt number. Only entries with a receipt number will be included.
Please make sure you leave a way for me to contact you.

If you do not have an account, please e-mail the comment to quiltjane@gmail.com and I will post it for you

The winners of this raffle will be announced 27th January 2011

Raffle Prize

First Prize – One Gypsy Rose Layer Cake by Figtree Quilts for Moda and 1 1/2 yards of a coordinating Gypsy fabric.

Second prizeFQ Bundle of Spa by Rosemarie Lavin for Windham and 1/2 yard of co-ordinating Spa Fabric.

Mine is only a small part in this sad event. As people we can give money, our time, furniture, food, bedding, a place to live and comfort to those who have lost everything.  Make a quilt for someone. Donate fabrics and notions to a local quilting group in flood affected areas. The list is endless and so should our commitment to our fellow human beings.
